QIIME (canonically pronounced ‘Chime’) stands for “Quantitative Insights Into Microbial Ecology”. QIIME is a microbial community analysis toolkit developed in Python using PyCogent, and can be used for microbial ecology studies based on traditional and high-throughput sequencing methods.
